Fianna Fáil Deputy for Mayo Lisa Chambers has called on the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport Shane Ross to instruct the TII to erect signposts on the M6 & M17 motorways for Ireland West Airport in Knock.
Speaking on the matter Deputy Chambers said, “It’s ridiculous that I have to go and ask the Minister for something that should already be there,”
“There is absolutely no logic in having an airport without proper signage in place, how this has even happened to begin with is beyond me,” she continued.
“I have sent a parliamentary question to the Minister asking him to instruct the TII to put the proper signage in place and I have also written to the TII asking for same.”
“This needs to be addressed as soon as possible; there are no excuses to not to have proper signage in place for one of the countries main airports.”
