Fianna Fáil Senator Lisa Chambers is calling on employers to be flexible and accommodate young employees with paid leave for when they attend their vaccine appointments.
Senator Chambers commented, “This week we saw retail outlets across the country open their doors and in a couple of weeks we’ll have the return of hospitality with many young people returning to part- and full-time employment.
“Young people have missed out a lot over the course of this pandemic and I’m sure many are excited to return to work. However, no-one should have to take a financial hit when they attend for vaccination and we need to ensure there is no hinderance to people delaying their vaccination appointment also.
“I’m calling on employers to give young people a break. I urge employers to be flexible and accommodate young employees with paid leave when they need to take time off to attend their vaccine appointment.”
