Fianna Fáil Senator for Mayo Lisa Chambers has welcomed the allocation of €755,577 in funding under the Live Performance Support Scheme 2021 – The scheme aims to support local artists, venues, promoters and producers.


Speaking on the matter Senator Chambers said “I am delighted that our local artists and venues are getting some much needed support after the major financial hit the industry has endured due to the pandemic.”


“Although this funding is of course welcome, there is always more we can do. We are so fortune to have such amazing talent in this country, it is important that we do all we can to support and nurture it,” she said


“The arts need to become more of a priority as we move forward, I know that our society throughout COVID have direly missed live performances and the joy they bring. I hope these funds help local musicians along with theatres and other entertainers continue to create and share their talents.” She concluded
